Help, Thanks, Wow
Anne Lamott's latest is more than three essential prayers.
Her "crabby optimism" gives evidence to yet another way of thinking about where ideas come from. And how we might survive the business with a bit more grace.
Namely, that we never endeavor alone, try as we might to make it so. That, from time to time, when we wise up and “finally stop trying to heal our own sick, stressed minds with our sick, stressed minds...” we recognize just how innate it is to say “Help.” That this is normal. It is right. It is what we should be doing.
And for these insights, I first say “Wow!” because, in truth, I hadn't thought of it that way before.
And finally, “Thanks.”
