Inevitably, we'll all work for Google, right?
Interesting news today from AdAge on Andy Berndt's move from Ogilvy/NY to Google. To my knowledge, this is the first transition we've seen of a major advertising executive over to Google. What does it mean?
"He will helm a new global unit dedicated to collaborating with marketers, agencies and entertainment companies."
"The new global unit isn't being called an agency, but any unit offering creative consultation and account services could be considered one."
I think this good news for advertising.
Hopefully Mr. Berndt (ex-W+K, ex-Chiat Day, ex-Ogilvy and recent AAF Hall of Fame inductee) can expedite the conversation between the ad industry and the rest of the world and help evolve our craft.
