Where's The Love?

Divorce

Brilliant video out on the state of affairs between consumers and most major advertisers today. Some dialogue...

CONSUMER:  "We don't talk."

ADVERTISER: "I just put down a 'mill ($1MM) on a TV commercial just to talk to you."

CONSUMER: "Exactly. You do all the talking."

ADVERTISER: "You can talk on our website, can't you?"

CONSUMER:  "Sure...if I want to say 'Order this product.'"

Marketing is truly the new comedy.

UPDATE...

Going back through email from the past few days, I discover a note from Philippe at Bad Idea, Indeed about this very film. Turns out it was created by two Microsoft guys! You can learn more about the idea here. They even made up a film poster...

Microsoftsmall

But what interests me most is their intent. This film was created by a Microsoft Trade Marketing Manager in  Belgium, working with his ad agency, openhere.  As he puts it, "the commercial explicity challenges the advertisers - our clients - to question themselves and the way they communicate with their target groups."

Okay.

This is Microsoft?

This is a client talking?

Thank god.
