If you want to learn something, teach it.
I started teaching in Boston in 1999. My first course was called So You Think You Want My Job—a 4-week primer taught at the Boston Ad Club for wannabe creatives. I went on to guest lecture at Boston College and Boston University about advertising and marketing.
I was an adjunct faculty member at Emerson College for two years, teaching copywriting and advertising in their graduate MBA program.
I’ve been adjunct faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) since 2008, beginning with a course I created called The Future of Advertising. This curriculum provides perspective, context, insights, tools and (most important) connections to thrive in a future where everything is marketing. The course encompasses the chaotic, integrated world of modern media, technology, strategy and ideas—with a focus on practical application for entrepreneurs and artists.
In 2023 I developed and taught the AI for Artists and Entrepreneurs course.
I’ve also guest lectured in MBA programs at St Thomas University, and the University of Minnesota.
