Mad Men
I'm just now getting into this new series from AMC. But already, I love the liberal use of cocktail napkins. And suits--everyone wears them, including the creatives.
I appreciate the struggle the main character in the first episode faces. "I've got nothing," he says, referring to ideas. He's got a suit pocket full of cocktail napkin scribbles. Been there, done that, but it was a Moleskin in my Booq laptop bag.
If MCAD isn't requiring watching this series for their History of Advertising class, I'm gonna make it required viewing for my Future of Advertising class. Ironic, to be sure. But there seems to be something there worth watching.
By the way, for the sake of the web/media/tech conversation: I don't actually watch this show about advertising on a TV. I download it from iTunes and tune in when I want. How's that for media consumption?
